The piece the collection started with. Rather than concealing the legs beneath the top, as convention dictates, they’re resolved as part of the tabletop’s own structure: each leg splits into a pair of diagonal supports that meet the top at a visible round dowel joint, and the two pairs are tied together by a single stretcher that doesn’t stop underneath the top but continues through it, surfacing at the centre of the table with the same rounded profile as the rest of the frame.
The oak was reclaimed from an old chair factory and left to season for twelve years before it was used, long enough for a 2.2-metre span to stay flat and stable rather than move with the seasons.
Finished in matt oil rather than lacquer, so the wood ages naturally with use. Seats up to eight.

Care
Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth; avoid excess water and abrasive cleaners. The oak is finished with matt oil rather than lacquer, so it ages naturally with use and may need re-oiling over time.
Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight, heat and moisture, and never place very hot or wet objects directly on the wood.
