A place to gather, pause and stay

Benches have a particular role in public space. They create a place to gather, pause and stay, often without prescribing what that moment should be.

The Bench Collection began with this idea: a bench can become a point of connection between people and their surroundings. In parks, galleries and other public spaces, it invites you to sit down and take in what is around you. That might be a work of art, a landscape, a building or simply the activity of the place itself.

The benches are deliberately proportioned beyond the conventional dimensions of a bench. They are longer and deeper, allowing several people to sit together, but also leaving enough space to lie down. The proportions give the bench a more informal character, allowing it to be used not only as a place to sit, but as a place to stay.
